Vivo is preparing to unveil its X300 series, promising industry-first video capabilities that the company claims surpass even the new iPhone 17 Pro. The brand aims to build on the success of its X100 and X200 series, which marked notable improvements in imaging and performance, and now shifts focus to cinematic video recording.

The X300 is reportedly powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, enabling 4K cinematic portrait video at 60 frames per second (fps). This capability would set it apart from both the current X200 series and Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, which are limited to 4K at 30 fps. Vivo’s announcement positions the X300 as a potential game-changer in smartphone videography, though verification of these claims remains pending.

The X-series’ collaboration with Zeiss optics has consistently impressed with high-quality imaging and versatility. Earlier hands-on experiences with previous models in Vietnam highlighted the advanced capabilities of these lenses. The X300 is expected to take imaging a step further, reportedly featuring dual 200MP camera sensors in its Ultra variant, along with variable aperture lenses and a periscope telephoto setup.

Vivo plans to debut the X300 series in China next month, with subsequent launches in India and additional markets. The lineup is expected to include the X300, X300 Pro, and X300 Ultra. While these upgrades promise significant performance gains, pricing will be a key factor as Vivo competes with premium brands like Apple.
